Club Lava
Only got 4 hours of sleep, since i slept at 10am and woke up at 2pm. Was blogging yesterday's entry when 3 Korean gals came into my room. They are students from their local university and holiday is on, so they decided to come here and their next stop will be Singapore. Asking if i would be back by next week. I said i don't think so. Average looking Korean, not ugly, but not those actress or the gal i met in the club on the first day i went drinking here.
First stop was to the Taipei Main Station, to have a look at their Metro mall. The place is filled with shops and foodstalls. Imagine air-condition and the smell of food mixed together. The place is not as big as the underground mall we have in City Hall. What do you call that? It actually slipped off my mind.. I have a feeling SiaOLiaO is going to say something like, you stupid shit its called "blah blah blah". lol. Walked to one part of the mall and heard this gal singing splendidly.

She has her own CD. And sells it for NT$250. Her voice is very mature for her looks, but i think she also looks younger than her actual age. She has a blog or something and i took it down. Haven't really view it yet though.

Nearby was this poster. Very cute picture of the polar bear, something to do with saving the world campaign i think.
Since the mall isn't very big, i have to find another location to spend my day. Next stop was LongShan Temple. In the train, while i was looking at the brochure for more information about LongShan, i looked up and saw this guy sitting infront of me, with a stoned face. This guy's face was in a permanent bulldog frown. I looked at him for like 5seconds and his facial expression didn't change, so my mind started to wonder.. I pictured myself walking up to him and slapping his face with the brochure. And i nearly did. Haha. Sometimes when i imagine myself doing this type of things ( Ally Mcbeal style ), i wonder if i would actually, accidentally carry out the motion. Lol. Ever happened to anyone of you before? Or maybe i'm just weird?!
Ok, reached the station and off i went, in search of better places of interest. Got off the station and the first thing that would probably catch your attention is the LongShan Temple itself.

The temple is just slightly bigger than the one we have in Waterloo street. Even in the late evening, there are still alot of worshippers making their offering and dropping by for quick prayers.

Located just inside the entrance of the temple, is this beautiful looking man-made mini waterfall. I think it's suppose to create a calm and warming atmosphere?

After that, i went to the tourist nightmarket and the local's nightmarket which is located side by side of each other.

Every nightmarket looks the same, so i didn't bother with taking pictures of them anymore.. The tourist nightmarket is really for tourist.. Especially westerners who want to buy souvenirs of chinese designs. It's like a Fu Lu Shou market. Everything is the same as the Fu Lu Shou we have in Singapore. The massage parlour, statues of buddha, blah blah blah.. But there is one slight different.. They have 3 shops that sells things to perk your sexual lifestyle. ^^ And the chinese seafood restaurants. The local's nightmarket sells street foods like all nightmarket. Everything is the same except that, there's more shops selling elderly clothes than all the nightmarkets i've been to. The front part of the market is for westerners again, and the back of it caters to everyone. The clothes for the young, the food for the young and old, and... 1 stall and 1 shop selling pornography. The shop actually sells it openly, with those 5 for NT$100 kind, to those limited copies one ( i think ) for NT$100 a piece. Sure is the first nightmarket i have been to that sells these things.
Still didn't dare to try their street food again, so i went back to Ximending to have my dinner. Wodnered around Ximending and decided to have my meal in Yoshinoya. It's located in the heart of Ximending but quite hard to find, cause of it's entrance being about unattrative. It doesn't really screams out HERE IS YOSHINOYA!!

I like the traditional japanese uniform they wore. The place is small but cosy and the price is cheaper than singapore. Beef set meal only cost NT$105. The seats are comfy and decor is simple but elegant. Compared to the other fastfood, this one sure won them hands-down.
Went back to hostel after my dinner. Lack of sleep + sore from walking = tired. Chatted with the receptionist for quite abit and she told me that this guy from holland, who just came in last night, went to Taipei 101 looking for clubs to go. In the afternoon.. Obviously he found none. So he came back complaining about being able to find a club in taipei. I thought over it, and decided to ask him to join me for clubbing. I didn't really wanna go, but since Mr SiaOLiaO told me Club Lava is nice, i decided to get him to join me. And as eager as a hungry shark that just sense blood near him, he jumped at the opportunity.. So i told him i will only go at 11pm. Took the Metro and reached Taipei City Hall. Didn't really know which building it was, as i only remembered reading somewhere that it was located near Taipei 101. So we walked towards the direction of 101. Nearing Taipei 101, we saw a crowd gathering outside a building, which the name, i again, forgotten. The crowd outside were all mostly teenagers. Which reminds me of the old Sparks we had in Takashimaya. The entrance was NT$600 for guys and NT$300 for gals. No ladies night on wednesday? Not just the crowd that is made up of young people. Even the bouncers and bartenders, to the Djs at the booth are youngsters. It looks like a place run by youngsters for youngsters. There was totally no westerners except for Peter himself. Haha. Since it was all you can drink for NT$600, the queue for the drinks was pretty long.. Even if you have refill your drinks you need to queue up, just like the rest. >.<" The gals here are definitely more aggresive than those i face in Club Luxy. While Club Luxy spells Luxurious and Sexy, Club Lava is not that well-furnished compared to it. The bartenders don't juggle any bottles or spit fires. They just pour your drinks and ask you to move on. =] The female bartenders and receptionist wears bikini as do some of the female customers. The gals grind you anytime they want and any monks that goes in there will probably come out denouncing their religion. This gal in particular came grinding at me and when i didn't give her enough attention, she accepts another guy's offer to be grind immediately. Lol. No wonder Kenneth calls me the anti-social whore. >.<" Its definitely like our Double O. The place you get laid easily. ONS is definitely easy to get here. There's this gal who told Peter he is hellsome ( i think she meant handsome )at least 5 times. And the other english sentence she knows beside that is "this is my friend" and she will pull one of her bikini wearing friends to shake hands with us. Anyway, halfway through our dancing session, the MC ( apparently they hire those faggots to shout into the mic and wave their hands like posers in most taiwan clubs ) announce that we are lucky to have The LEECH with us today. Its actually a trio of rappers who got lucky with a stupid record label who makes a stupid move by signing them up. And their group name is actually The League not Leech. Stupid MC had difficulties pronouncing the name. Stupid MC shouted into the mic and said, Hello everybody! Show The LEECH that we taiwanese are very friendly and welcoming, when i say The LEECH, you guys say welcome to taiwan!
Stupid MC: The LEECH!
Crowd: Welcome to Taiwan!
Stupid MC: The LEECH!
Crowd: Welcome to Taiwan!

It was quite irritating to hear him speak. And when some parts of the song, the Dj mute the music, and you only hear his voice. OmG!! Tone deaf. This song, which i never bothered to check out the title. Has the part where u sing Lou, lou, lou, lou, lou, lou. Or Low, low, low, low, low. ( not sure its lou or low ). Anyway, he sings all the lou/low in monotone. Wtf!?! Some parts of the songs he doesn't really know well, cause its in english, he sings anyway and the Dj suddenly mute the music, and you can hear him gibbering rubbish. Just trying to make some noise..!! Then he turn back to look at the Dj as if asking him WtF you mute the music for? That was so embarrassing, you know? hAHA. Ok, so finally The LEECH, i mean The LEAGUE came onstage and with 4 sexy dancers started to rap and dance infront of me. 2 of the dancers jumped onto the sound system, which is located just beside me. So i happen to see a very clear view of butt cheeks and ^^ One of the stupid league rapper decided to take off his skirt, i mean shirt, to show of his BEER BELLY. Wtf!?! You have a professional contract and being a rapper, you have a beer belly. That is really no pretense at all. He really just love being a rapper and doesn't bother about his image.. Nowadays, all the rappers we see, have got a very nice body, even Eminem puts in the effort to toughen up himself. This guy.. I got nothing to say man.. Ok, talking about their music, out of the 10 they sang, i think only 2 are up to the standard, not really super hit songs, just able to make you wanna listen twice. The rest is crap and remix of some popular songs, like Linkin Park's and Eminem's. After their performance, Mr Beer Belly has the cheek to "invite the ladies out there, to join us at OUR OWN VIP area". Which is actually just like any other Vip area.. As if he is already some kind of superstar.. Peter had a few too many drinks, and we left just before the lights were on, around 3.45am. Decided to head back to Ximending area for supper. Since there is a MAcDonald just inside Ximending, we took a taxi there. Upon reaching there, we saw a group of girls and a guy sitting in the middle of the open area, just outside the Ximen Station. With a guitar on the floor, it sparks my interest and curiousity. We went over to see what they were doing, and saw them gathering together drawing some pictures on papers. We started a conversation and found out this guy is from Japan and he will going back with an 8am flight. The gals, taiwanese, were celebrating one of the gal's birthday. Their celebration is very unique. They busk for money to buy a cake. So creative and fun, i think. They wrote on a poster saying, We are not good at playing the guitar or singing, pls give us a chance to perform, and if by somehow you like our performance, please feel free to share the cost of our birthday cake, which is for the singer. I don't know how much they made, but they seem very happy about it. The Japanese guy came into the picture, because he was the last customer who appreciated their effort. And somehow, they chatted up and decided to stay and chat till he goes off for his flight. Peter and i arrived at the scene at around 4am. And the Japanese guy, feeling inferior or something decided to leave shortly after our arrival. The gals informed us that somehow, the MacDonald's in Ximending which is opened 24hours like every other outlets is close. WTf!? 2 of the gals left for home, and the other 2 decided to join us for breakfast. Apparently, the sky starts to light up at around 5am, and i wasn't really used to it, cause i kept looking at the time in my watch, wondering if i tune it to the wrong timing. Saw this mad guy in the MacDonald's, standing between some seats and lifting up and dropping down his hands, sometimes looking at the ceiling, but never making a noise. Even after we left, which is about 1 hour later, he is still doing the same motion. Wtf..

Very friendly indeed. I have yet to encounter rude youngsters in taiwan. Cool!
Got back and showered, and it was only 6.15am.. When i came out of the shower, the Korean gals starting their preparation for the day. I forgot to mention, i have 2 american guys in the room right? Because the 2 guys were still sleeping, the Korean gals whispered alot when they wanted to talk to each other. And suddenly, they gathered together and started talking almost all at once. The whispering they made is so cute and funny, it sounds like 3 chipmunks talking together. Even though they were whispering, it can be quite loud if its 3 people whispering. Since the room isn't very big, the sound is enough to wake up American 1. American 1 woke up, switched on his bedside lamp and started playing Suduko. >.< They are teachers, teaching in ShenZhen. Funny guys, they come to taiwan, gets tired easily and hole themselves up in the room after a short trip to somewhere, American 2 lies in bed most of the time, while American keeps himself entertain by playing Suduko.. Weirdos. Lol.
