Shilin market, SYS Memorial and Wufenpu
Yesterday was the last day Kenneth is in Taiwan. Was suppose to meet him and Jingjing for movies( i have yet to experience the movie theatre here >.<" ), but they were going to watch KungFu Panda which i had already watched in Singapore.
So there goes my theatre experience.. So i went wandering around and by then it was 5plus.Kenneth and Jingjing had finished watching their movie and we decided to meet at Shilin nightmarket, cause its the most popular tourist nightmarket.
Headed straight to Shilin Station, but as i found out, Shilin nightmarket isn't at Shilin Station but a station before it, Jiantan Station. Luckily, they announce just before the train reached the station and i managed to hop off the train in time. But i got off the wrong exit though. They did announce that i was suppose to get off at exit 2, but my mind was wandering and i exited at 1, so i have to make a short detour to the place.

I went in straight to take a look. Walked past all the foodstalls and into the alleys of foodstalls, came to an end and i thought, WTF!?! so small? i thought it was huge.

Saw this little make shift arcade games inside the market. Then this uncle walks up to me, and in quite a rude manner told me to stop taking my pictures. And me, not being used spoken in such a manner, asked back rudely, why can't i? Then he thought for awhile before rephrasing his question, can u don't take pictures? I said ok and left. Do you think it is illegal for arcade games to be in that place? I mean there were at least 30 machines.. Anyway, i got hungry and saw quite alot of people queueing up for this stall.

And like most Singaporeans. Whatever the queue is, as long as there's lots of people, WE JOIN!! Yes, no? Anyway i know it says fried chicken. I'm just wondering if it was worth queueing for. So i went to the front and took a look at the fried chicken. It was huge, and costs just NT$50. Since i'm hungry i joined the queue. =]

The verdict is out! Cheap and tasty, worth the money. Any cheaper you have to skin the chicken yourself!
After the chicken, i went to the right side of the road and found out the Shilin nightmarket isn't just that small place i saw.

The last pic is suppose to show the stall vendors pushing their carts into the small alley. Before i met up with Kenneth and co, i went for a quick look in marketplace. Unspoken rule is that if you are walking into the market, you're suppose to keep right, Those coming out will be moving only on your left. I was too cramp for me to enjoy my fried chicken so i went to the side alleys to rest and finish it up. While feeding some wild cats with the chicken, the vendors came rushing in with their carts. Caught me by surprise. The police came. I should not have said the police.. There's only one police.. I mean i only saw one. Haha. The rest of the night, Jingjing and her boyfriend brought us around and introduce us to some local snacks, like fried mushrooms. It was tasty. Went back straight after that. We were too tired to carry on with other activities.
Today was a long day too. Left earlier than the last few days cause i have stopped the nightlife thing. Actually, another reason i woke up so early is because of the msg tone of my hp. Saw the message and replied, after that, the following message pissed me off so much i swear i won't bother with her silly shit anymore. Irritating person! Had an early lunch and first stop was to SYS Memorial. This is the place of Doctor Sun Yat-Sen. Founding father of the Republic of China.

The honor guards are set up for commemorating him. The Army, Navy and Air Force takes turn to serve as the honor guards, whose duty is from 9am to 5pm with shifts made every hour. They do some gun swinging actions as a part of the honoring.

There are a few families flying their kite in the compound and the Taipei 101 is the backdrop. Nice.
Went straight to Wufenpu Clothes Shopping Area. This place is huge. Much much bigger than Bugis Viillage. Its also like Shilin nightmarket. Lots of people, even for a Monday. Some parts are slightly air-conditioned, while some parts is open area. Alleys link to alleys like the many rivers leading to one ocean. I'm not sure how many alleys are there. I kinda feel like im walking round and round. Clothes here are priced the same, if not, slightly cheaper than Ximending. Trendy clothes which i think is also suitable for the current weather. So hot summer!

Didn't take any pics of Wufenpu though, just imagine a big Bugis Village >.<" An overhead bridge near Wufenpu, links the four corners of the traffic junction. Cute dog i saw, on my way there. And Taipei 101 at night! Ciao!
