Went down to Kovan today for the semi-finals of Kovan Superstar.. Havent even been practising my songs at all.. What was i doing this past few days.. Zzzz..

Went down early to catch Alan's performance. And waited for my turn.. I wasn't really nervous, thank God.. I went up introduce myself, the song im singing and just sang.. Saw Darwin waving at me, nearly smile.. Had to get myself back into the emotions of the song.. I think i did pretty ok, considering the fact that i went drinking the night b4, till 3am.. Sianz.. No discipline.. Bad lifestyle.. I forgot a small bit of the lyrics, but managed to cover up with random words.. HAha... No discipline again.. Never practise at all..



Results were out at 7pm.. Lucky i went home to rest b4 going back down for the results.. Nick Shen called up the finalists.. Introducing me as Singapore Jay Chou... Lol.. No comments..

There will be a simple photoshoot for it, and recording of an album for the competition, for all the finalists.. Plus Singapore Idol 3 bootcamp.. Ahh... Too many competitions can be tiring.. Especially when u have to switch between English and Chinese songs.. Well, i should be thankful for them..

Need to put in lots of effort this time.. Cannot let the same mistake bring me down again..

Aahh, as you read the title of today's post. Its quite obvious right? Haha, don't wanna keep u guys anticipating. From 4000plus people.. to 100.. so scary..

Woke up very early today again.. 6am.. I'm so used to sleeping late and waking up late, and yet everyday for the past 1 week is early day for me.. But every early day i had was amazing, so i can't whine much. =D Going to church conference and this..
Met up with Sebas, bought some light breakfast from City Hall Sublink Breadtalk and headed down to the Floating Platform which is beside Marina Square.. Was slightly early, and was told by the crews to come back later..

Went to Marina Square to chill and make full use of their aircon.. Weather nowadays is so impossible to endure.. Wonder how those new NS recruits are going to endure this heat. Haha.
Anyway, we went back to the place for audition. Had to queue quite a couple of times.. Maybe its been too long since i last blog.. Haha, didn't really remember to take some shots.. Finally, they led me and a few contestants up to another level, i thought there was still a chance to unload my bladder b4 the audition.. Turns out, there isn't any.. And i was the next few.. Couldn't go down and use the toilet again.. Sad...

So as i was waiting as the next in line, Hady Mirza came up and chatted me up.. I didn't say much.. Just that my bladder is too full. Haha. Gosh! He ask me to TAHAN!!
It was really hard to sing with a full bladder.. If you sing too hard, u might just leak a little.. HAHAHA, ok, im just JOKING!!
Of course my pipe won't leak..

When it was my turn, i stood infront of the judges. Kinda weird.. First time seeing them in real life for the first time. Ken Lim, Dick Lee, Florence Lian.. Just like the first time i saw those 星光 judges..

Dick Lee asked me, so you are more into singing chinese songs, then Ken Lim asked me why the switch.. Wah, didn't even think of this question b4.. Haha. Obviously for the competition.. And he threw another question, can't really remember what.. Something to do with singing english songs again..

So i started singing when i was told to.. Sang ok.. Not bad, but definitely not impressive at all.. Lucky half way through, i saw Dick Lee nodding his head, thats one vote. At the end of my singing, he said he likes my high pitch.. Haha. So i just need another nod of the head.. Florence Lian seems to be convinced. They asked me to sing a chinese song, dono for what reason. I sang.. Didn't impress Ken at all. Haha. I just suck at singing without a mic.. Dick likes my hoarse voice, Flo says it sounds more rock, nice touch. I was like, wah.. Not having enough sleep and i get to give u the rock feel.. Not bad.. Haha, they ask me to remain hoarse then.. Lol.
I thank them, went out the room with Gurmit waiting outside, with Sebas. I walked out empty handed.. They were saying aww.. Then i slipped my hand behind my back, pulled out my Congratulation Slip from my jacket and surprised them. HahAAHa.. Nice one to myself!

OK, we did a short interview, and i was led to somewhere again, did a few more short interviews. I think i suck at them, too tired to reply lively. Haha. So hopefully they don't show any of it on tv.. Then again, was led to the floating platform stand. Where the hot sun is shining ever so brightly.. Wah.. Heat stroke.. Wearing my jacket, i had to sit there pose to camera and sing "Home" the national song made famous by Kit Chan.. It was a torture and glad it was done..

Now, i have to prepare myself another few english songs.. Guess im going the slightly rock route.. Haha, any rock songs to recommend?!


12th of July to 18th of July will be BOOT CAMP And Theatre Audition! at the Orchid Country Club..
And we have to bring swimsuits too.. I don't really feel like flaunting my body lor.. Lol.. 7 days of bootcamp.. Wonder what it will be like..

Well, finally updated my blog, after exactly one month. =D

This week sure was a busy one.. 3 different competitions auditions coming up at the same time. Just a few weeks ago, i was pondering which competitions should i commit if both of them have an audition on the same date. I won't have to make a choice now.
Start of with friday. I went to take part in this small competition in my hometown. Kovan Superstar. Haha. Ok. I joined it cause Ivan wanted to have someone else to go with him. I asked him to take part in it cause he needs the experience if he gets into Singapore Idol 3..
Well, we both did get through to the semi finals.. Quite a breeze. Hehe.. Guess I'm getting very used to standing on stage.. But till now, i have never been able to do a splendid performance " by my own standard ".. No idea why, my throat is always acting slightly funny..
Well, next competition I'm talking about is, Singapore Idol 3. YEah! I made it through the first round. Ok, its just the first round. Nothing much to be proud of. I mean if you intend to go far in the competition, you should believe and know very well, you have to get through the first round with ease.. Haha, lucky me, i didn't queue up for it either. The sun was too hot for me, and i just can't queue for hours. I will go crazy.. So i didn't join those midnight queues or "under the hot sun queue"... A real kudos to those who did, their dedication.. In fact, i was stressing myself, thinking which competition to join.. It was between Singapore Idol 3, or 星光5 Singapore PK team.. Well, i kept praying for an answer. =P Today, i got it. Hoho, I was in the semi finals for the PK competition today, but was disappointed with the way they base their judging criteria.. They said matter of factly that X-Factor is a very important point of their judging opinions.. Well, to me.. This is a PK competition.. I would expect the judges to focus more on the vocal capabilities than the way we dress or look.. ( IF I HAD KNOWN I WON'T HAVE GONE IN A PLAIN SWEATER JACKET!! ) Or maybe i just don't have the X-Factor. Which i would really like to disagree with.. Haha. They had to select 20 for the finals, out of the 75 semi finalists.. It seem pretty easy for me to slip into the 20. But i guess plain me, missed it. Instead someone who sings half the lyrics wrong got in.. With another 10 ppl from previous TV shows competitions. Like, Carrie and Diya from Project Superstar. Sly from Singapore Idol. Some project superstar finalist, and winner, like Huang Zhiyang.. ANd blah blah blah.. So its pretty much, made good for tv ratings contest. Haha. Ok, some of them were good, but really.. I doubt some of their abilities.. I do see Carrie going to Taiwan to PK though. She sure looks like the real deal.. JIAYOU!
Ok, another small competition coming up, ONE LOVE GOT TALENT! Yeah. Its actually a church event. Open to everyone and anyone. As long as you got talent, you can take part in it. The prize is 1.5k if i'm not wrong. I always forget the prizes, unless i take it. Haha.
So now, i currently have 3 competitions this month.. Continuing my Singapore Idol 3 journey and 2 lower scale competitions! WOoHoo!

PS: Dudes with whom i had 麻辣火锅 yesterday! It didn't really affect my vocals.. Ok.. Maybe just a little bit hoarse. Hahaha..
